Profane Occultists

After the veil between life and death was sundered, and the depths of the Shadowlands were plundered, the mortals of Azeroth returned with new forms of esoteric knowledge. Rituals of death and darkness found their way to strongholds of forbidden arts. From these enclaves of degeneracy, oozing with malice, sprang forth a new breed of necromancers, focused on the defilement of mind and soul.

Class Information

Soulmancers are a versatile caster who manipulate allies and enemies alike by linking to their very souls. A diverse array of utility is available to them including enemy displacement, soul explosions, and an aptitude for temporarily bringing allies back from the afterlife. An adept Soulmancer knows their might is linked to the loss of their health and the harvesting of anima, and will carefully manage those resources while stalking into battle to damage, heal, or protect.

Magic Type

Soulmancers tap into a new school of magic to fuel their spells: Death. This necromantic fount of power is sourced directly from the Shadowlands. It is a twisted distillation of the afterlife that can latch onto the diaphanous fabric of souls. Through connection, the caster can harvest the essence of their victims to bolster their conjurations.

Resource: Anima

The most expedient way to gain anima is through sacrificing your own health. You can also gain it gradually by targeting an ally or enemy. For every five seconds focused on the same target, you will get 10 anima, increased by another 5 for each additional five seconds without swapping targets. Switching to a new target will reset the bonus anima gain. As a Soulmancer, you can harvest and hold up to 100 anima at once.

Specializations

Soulmancer talents can supplement their Gloom Insignia with additional utility; add more spell-chain combos for additional damage; empower the Soul Golem; and boost health sustainability.

Soulmancer armor is always made of cloth and typically reinforced with iron plates and metal wiring. Luminous diamonds and vivid runes are embedded into the fabrics, serving as anima repositories and magical foci. Gleaming steel and flowing robes merge to create an aura of grace.
